Peregrine Ventures forms leaders for a complex world. We co-created it because we believe the hardest problems of our time call for more than technical expertise, they call for clarity of purpose, moral courage, and rightly ordered desire. Rooted in Augustine's vision of ordo amoris — the right ordering of love — Peregrine helps leaders navigate complexity with clarity, courage, and conscience. As the programme puts it, "It's not just a programme, it's a pilgrimage."
Why We Built It
Everything we do at Access Ventures rests on a conviction that people, not just strategies, drive redemptive change and that a flourishing world depends on leaders whose loves are rightly ordered. That is not a lesson a spreadsheet can teach. So alongside our work deploying capital toward human flourishing, we helped create a venture devoted to forming the people who steward it.
Peregrine takes the same Augustinian foundation that anchors our thesis and turns it toward leadership formation: helping men and women examine not just what they are building, but how and why they lead. It is, quite literally, our thesis embodied in people.
The Programme
Peregrine is a collaborative experience that blends online and on-site learning. Participants engage asynchronously with a rich digital curriculum, then gather in Oxford, a city renowned for its intellectual and spiritual heritage, for an intensive residential experience built around Oxford's tutorial model and conversations with leading scholars. Away from the pace of daily work, leaders enter a week of rigorous reflection, dialogue, and formation.
The heart of it is simple, and hard: love what matters, and lead accordingly.
Peregrine Scholars
Peregrine also supports the Peregrine Scholars who are individuals engaged in rigorous scholarship at the intersection of ethics, leadership, and society, building a deeper intellectual foundation for the work of leadership in our time. The programme prioritizes the humanities and social sciences and welcomes interdisciplinary research that informs public life, business, and policy. Proceeds from the Oxford programme help fund these scholars, extending the impact of every cohort well beyond the week itself.
Why It Matters To Us
Peregrine Ventures is where our thesis becomes personal. Capital shapes systems; leaders shape capital. By co-creating a place that forms leaders in wisdom, virtue, and rightly ordered love, we're investing in the deepest leverage point of all, the character and conscience of the people building the future.
