Navigate Maternity

Real-time monitoring and support that helps catch maternal health risks before they become emergencies.

Navigate Maternity is a maternal health technology company that uses data to support both patients and providers through pregnancy and the year after birth. Its platform pairs FDA-cleared, connected devices with a mobile app and human support, giving moms real-time monitoring and clinicians the information they need to intervene early. Navigate came to us through the Reconstruct Challenge, where it won a Phase 1 grant, and we followed with a Phase 2 investment.

Our role: Reconstruct Challenge Phase 1 grant, then Phase 2 investment

Type: Maternal health technology company

Focus: Remote monitoring, education, and support across pregnancy and postpartum

Why we backed them

The United States has a maternal health crisis, and too many of its worst outcomes are preventable. Warning signs like rising blood pressure often appear between appointments, when no one is watching, and the risks fall hardest on women who are already underserved. The result is missed warnings and, too often, missed women.

Navigate is built to close that gap. By monitoring key signs continuously and connecting moms to education and support in the moments between visits, it turns pregnancy care from a series of snapshots into a continuous, culturally competent relationship. This fits our conviction that health is foundational to flourishing, that dignity means being seen and supported, and that the most vulnerable deserve the most attentive care. It also pairs naturally with our support of other maternal health work, like Granny's Birth Initiative.

From the Reconstruct Challenge to our portfolio

Navigate is another example of our innovation work paying off. Through the Reconstruct Challenge, we help founders test and prove ideas that expand access and improve outcomes, then back the ones that work with follow-on funding. Navigate won a Phase 1 grant to develop its idea, proved the model, and earned a Phase 2 investment as it grew into a scaling company. That path, from grant to investment, is exactly what the Challenge is built to create.

What Navigate does

  • Connected health monitoring: pregnancy-validated, FDA-cleared devices, including a Bluetooth blood pressure cuff and scale, that track blood pressure, weight, and mood from the first prenatal visit through twelve months postpartum.

  • Trimester-based education and screenings: self-paced learning tailored to each stage, plus quick in-app check-ins on emotional and social well-being.

  • Support and essentials: connections to local resources and covered pregnancy essentials such as blood pressure cuffs, compression garments, and breast pumps, often through insurance.

Navigate serves moms, clinicians, and payors alike, and its approach is FDA-cleared and clinically validated.

Why it matters to us

Navigate Maternity works to make sure no warning sign, and no mother, goes unseen. Backing it, first through the Reconstruct Challenge and then as an investor, is a direct investment in healthier mothers and babies and in a more equitable start to life. That is flourishing at its most fundamental.
