Impact Multiplier
We meet the demands of complex challenges with creativity, a high tolerance for risk, a willingness to be catalytic with capital, and an emphasis on developing the next generation.
Our endowment is 100% mission-aligned, from the program work we perform alongside amazing partners to direct investments, alternatives, and public equities. We work to find and fund solutions that help more people thrive.
projects and companies we are proud to be a part of
CVC - Marathon
CVC-Marathon, formerly Marathon Asset Management, is a leading global credit investment manager. In July 2026, CVC Capital Partners completed its acquisition of the firm, which is being rebranded CVC-Marathon; co-founders Bruce Richards and Lou Hanover continue to lead its credit strategies. We are a limited partner in the Marathon Distressed Credit Fund, which held its final close at $2.5 billion in early 2021, part of the opportunistic credit allocation within our portfolio.
Northlane Capital Partners
Northlane Capital Partners is a middle-market private equity firm that invests in niche healthcare and business services companies. We are a limited partner in Northlane's third fund, part of the private equity allocation within our portfolio.
Asia Companion Fund
The Asia Companion Fund (ACF) is a Singapore-based venture fund that invests in Series A and B+ companies whose cultures seek to bless their stakeholders, starting with their own employees. It was incubated by JLIN Capital Studio, the people-driven investment group founded by Jeremy Lin that operates across Asia and the United States. We are a limited partner in the fund.
Invesco
Invesco is one of the world's leading independent asset managers, serving clients in more than 120 countries across ETFs, fixed income, equities, and private markets. We invest through an Invesco intermediate government/credit fixed-income strategy and a core, high-quality building block within our portfolio.
Donate Equity
Donate Equity makes complex giving simple. Its software platform and expert team help nonprofits receive early-stage equity gifts from donors — founders, small-business owners, and early employees who want to give a slice of what they're building long before any sale. We are investors in Donate Equity, and our own AV Foundation has been an early user of the platform.
Growth Loan Fund
The Growth Loan was a non-collateralized loan of up to $35,000 for small-business owners who can't access capital through traditional underwriting. We designed and built it to fill a gap our other work kept surfacing: talented entrepreneurs being turned away not because they wouldn't repay, but because they didn't fit a credit-score box. More than a product, the Growth Loan was a conversation where borrowers speak directly to the loan committee, and confidence in the person carries real weight.
Shelby Park - Louisville, KY
Shelby Park is where Access Ventures began. A small Louisville neighborhood built by German and Irish immigrants around an Olmsted-designed park, it thrived for the first half of the twentieth century and then, like so many American neighborhoods, hollowed out and losing residents and businesses to the suburbs and the interstate, and gaining vacancy, disinvestment, and crime in their place. By the time we began in the spring of 2014, roughly 83% of residents rented, median household income was about 60% below the national figure, and three of every five renters were cost-burdened.
Catalyze
Catalyze is the platform for capital entrepreneurs, the fund managers working to move capital toward businesses the mainstream overlooks. It gives those managers the capital and support they need to build enduring firms, and it helps allocators find and back exceptional, differentiated managers. Catalyze was birthed out of Blueprint and today Access Ventures serves as its fiscal sponsor and a strategic partner, providing the charitable home, infrastructure, and partnership that lets the Catalyze team focus on its mission.
Fortress
Fortress Investment Group is a pioneer and leader in alternative assets, managing capital across credit, real estate, and private equity for some of the world's largest and most sophisticated investors. We invest through Fortress's real estate credit strategy (the Fortress Credit Realty Income Trust) as part of the disciplined, income-oriented core of our portfolio.
Trinity Capital
Trinity Capital is an international alternative asset manager that provides investors access to the private credit market while providing growth-stage companies the capital they need to scale. It sources, vets, and invests in dynamic, privately funded companies across distinct verticals — technology lending, equipment financing, healthcare and life sciences, sponsor finance, and asset-based lending. We are an investor in Trinity Capital, a relationship deepened by a genuine friendship with its leadership.
AV Foundation
The AV Foundation is a donor's partner for impact, a public charity that helps people realize their philanthropic aspirations while fostering a sense of community around every challenge. We started it with friends, and we continue to support its vision and its growth. The team at Access Ventures provides management support to the Foundation and its donor-advised fund accounts.
Kyndly
Kyndly is a health benefits technology company that makes it easy to offer an ICHRA, the Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement. Instead of a one-size-fits-all group plan, an ICHRA lets an employer give workers tax-advantaged dollars to choose the individual health plan that fits their life. Kyndly provides the turnkey, white-label platform that benefits administrators, FMOs, and general agencies use to deliver it at scale. Kyndly first came to us through our Reconstruct Challenge, where it won a Phase 1 grant, and we followed with a Phase 2 investment.
TriLinc Global
TriLinc Global empowers investors to put private capital to work for measurable social and environmental impact without sacrificing returns. Through its Private Debt Plus® strategy, TriLinc provides term loans and trade finance to established, growth-stage small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing economies, the businesses that create jobs and build communities but are chronically starved of growth capital. We are an investor in the TriLinc Global Impact Fund, part of the impact-oriented, global reach of our portfolio.
Lendable
Lendable is a technology-enabled investment platform that provides asset-backed debt to fintech companies across emerging and frontier markets. Our investment carries the same conviction across borders that guides our work at home: capital deployed not just for profit, but for human flourishing.
Goodwater
Goodwater Capital backs founders building consumer technology for everyday life, with a data-driven research approach it publishes openly. Access Ventures held a position with Goodwater as part of its mission-aligned endowment.
Reconstruct Challenge
Community Investment Management (CIM)
Access to responsible credit is one of the most basic conditions of economic agency. Without it, a capable borrower can't buy the vehicle that gets them to work, smooth an uneven month, or fund the inventory that grows a business not because they are unreliable, but because legacy underwriting can't see them.
CIM was built to close that gap at scale.
Kairos
Kairos Investment Management Company (KIMC) is a disciplined real estate investor whose name says a lot about its philosophy — kairos, the opportune moment when conditions are right for a crucial action. Kairos invests across commercial and multifamily real estate in the lower middle market, pairing rigorous, capital-preservation-first underwriting with a genuine commitment to impact. We are an investor in Kairos's impact-oriented real estate strategies.
Render Capital
Kiva
Kiva is a peer-to-peer platform that lets anyone crowdfund a 0%-interest loan of up to $10,000 for an entrepreneur and it’s capital extended on the strength of character and community rather than collateral and credit scores. We became one of Kiva's earliest and most trusted implementation partners in the U.S., launching Kiva Louisville, then Kiva Columbus, and then Kiva Tulsa, and serving as a hands-on partner for roughly three years.
