Haven Connect builds software for affordable housing. It gives property managers tools to manage applications and waitlists, and it streamlines the application process for the people trying to find a home. Haven Connect came to us through our Reconstruct Challenge, where it won a Phase 1 grant, and we followed with a Phase 2 investment.
Why we invested
Affordable housing is scarce, and the process of applying for it is often needlessly painful. Waitlists have long been managed on paper, which means applicants stand in line, fill out duplicate forms, and lose their place when a mailed notice never reaches them. Property managers, meanwhile, spend enormous time on manual paperwork instead of on residents. The people with the least margin for error end up carrying the heaviest administrative burden.
Haven Connect fixes that. By moving applications and waitlists online, it makes the process faster and fairer for applicants and far more efficient for the providers serving them. This fits our conviction that place is where life takes shape, and that dignity shows up in the details. Removing friction from something as basic as applying for a home is a small change that meaningfully expands access.
What Haven Connect does
For applicants: a simpler online way to apply for affordable housing and keep an application current, so a missed letter or a day off work does not cost someone their spot.
For property managers: software to collect applications, manage waitlists, and cut down the manual paperwork that slows affordable housing operations.
By connecting both sides of the process, Haven Connect helps more units get filled with less friction, which serves residents and providers alike.
Why it matters to us
Haven Connect works on an unglamorous but essential part of the housing system: the paperwork that stands between people and a home. Making that process more accessible and efficient is a practical way to help affordable housing do more good. Backing it is one of the ways we invest in a system where more people can find a place to live with dignity.
